Power Supply Development and Stabilization Taipower Plans to Issue the Sixth Unsecured Corporate Bonds for 2022

To raise funds for power development, the Taipower Board of Directors has approved (on October 17) the sixth unsecured corporate bonds of NT$11.2 billion for 2022 which is scheduled to be issued mid-November. Taipower stated that in order to continuously develop diversified power sources and power grids that ensure a stable power supply, the funds raised will be used mainly for the Gas-Fired Unit Renewal and Renovation Project of the Hsinta Power Plant, the Gas-Steam Combined Cycle Unit Construction Project of the Datan Power Plant and the Renewal and Expansion Project of the Linkou Power Plant.

 

Taipower stated that the conditions for the issuance of corporate bonds are as follows:

1. 3-year unsecured corporate bonds: NT$1.4 billion will be issued at a fixed interest rate of 1.85%. The interest will be paid once per year and the principal amount will be returned upon maturity.

2. 5-year unsecured corporate bonds: NT$7.7 billion will be issued at a fixed interest rate of 1.95%. The interest will be paid once per year and one-half of the principal amount will be returned at the end of the fourth and fifth years from the date of issuance.

3. 10-year unsecured corporate bonds: NT$2.1 billion will be issued at a fixed interest rate of 2.15%. The interest will be paid once per year and the principal amount will be returned upon maturity.

4. The issuance of the current corporate bonds will be confirmed after the declaration comes into effect.
