After the payment period is over, late payments will be calculated based on a daily interest rate plus 1% of the basic lending rate for the Bank of Taiwan (at the 1st of the month for the electricity bill due). These charges will be applied to the next electricity bill. If the electricity bill is not paid by the following meter reading date, the power supply will be temporarily suspended without notice.

2. According to the provisions of the Electricity Act, Taipower submits Business Regulations and Rate Schedules to the Ministry of Economic Affairs for approval. Copies of these can be obtained from local branch offices (see the back for details) or through Taipower's official website.

  • In order to protect users’rights, users shall apply to Taipower Company for transfering power supply contract.
  • If you intend to install a household renewable energy generation system (involving hydro, wind or solar power, etc.), please apply for a change of equipment.                                                                                                                                                      
  • The winning invoice will be notified by letter. Winners can use the electricity bill with the "award receipt" to redeem rewards from the Bonus Agency. Customers can log in to Taipower’s electronic invoice platform to check their invoice information.
  • In accordance with Article 52 of Electricity Act, the Ministry of Economic Affairs sets "Preferential Tariff Charging Methods", and "Eligibility for Disabled Families Using Electricity for Life Support Equipment and Necessary Living Aids; Applicable Range and Calculation Methods for Electricity Tariffs for Life Support Equipment and Necessary Living Aids". Taipower provides qualified customers with preferential tariffs in accordance with the above regulations.
  • Using electrical appliances and other means to arbitrarily modify meters and make measurements inaccurate constitutes illegal power consumption behavior under the " Regulations on Unauthorized Consumption of Electricity." Electricity users found to be in violation of these rules not only have to pay for electricity charges, but also face criminal liability for theft under Articles 320 and 323 of the Criminal Law.
  • Installation of phase failure protection or alarm devices is recommended for electrical equipment that during phase loss or reversal could suffer failure or damage.
  • Those finding and reporting to the government of new illegal wells in the groundwater control area will be awarded NTD 3000 upon confirmation.
  • For property, plants, and equipment that require constant power, please install standby generators or uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) as emergency power systems. These standby power systems must contain connectors that are interlocked to the main source and must be installed by a Contract Electric Appliance Installer in order to prevent the hazard as a result of backfeeding. In order to ensure a normal power supply during typhoons, residents of this community (buildings) are asked to improve the maintenance of generators and pumping equipment. Sandbags or waterproof gates should be installed at the entrances and exits of basements in Flood-Prone-Area.
  • Notice of the refund of excessive electricity charges will be given in writing. The refund method is as follows: claim your refund in person, choose to transfer it to your bank account or to have it applied as a deduction on your next bill. We will not ask customers to provide ATM card numbers for refunds. Please beware of fraud. If you receive a suspicious text message, please contact the 165 anti-fraud line or our 1911 customer service line immediately.
