Overview of the Development of Renewable Energy
Power generation of renewable energy is around 6.0% of the entire Taiwan Power system
In terms of device capacity, current development of renewable energy is focused on 'wind power generation' and 'solar photovoltaics'. Device capacity of renewable energy are approximately 15.0% of the Taiwan Power system.
- As most fair wind power sites on land are tapped out, wind power generation are expected to develop in offshore sites.
- Solar photovoltaics was initially established in major systems led by Taiwan Power. Main forces for recent development have been changed to NGOs, so as to achieve the goal of 'Million Rooftop PVs Promotion Project'.

- Small wind power facilities scattered all over the place totaling 609 kW.

Note: Due to the large number of private solar photovoltaics, only the independent power producer (IPP) that have been officially commercial operation and given the electrician license by the electricity industry law are marked.
