2017 Awards

  • In the World Bank’s Doing Business 2018 report, Taipower ranked third in the world on the Getting Accessibility to Electricity Index
  • Taipower received five awards (2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals) at the “13th Asian Power Awards,” organized by Asian Power Magazine. These included:
    -Nuclear Power Project of the Year (Gold) and Hydro Power Project of the Year (Gold)
    -Transmission and Distribution Project of the Year (Silver)
    -Information Technology Project of the Year (Bronze) and Coal Power Project of the Year (Bronze)
  • Taipower was ranked 33rd in the Large Enterprises category by CommonWealth Magazine’s CSR Awards for 2017
  • The company received the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE)’s Gold Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award for the third consecutive year in the energy industry category
  • The company received the Excellence Award in the 2018 Taipei Golden Eagle Micro-movie Festival for the entry of “My Daddy, My Hero”
  • Taipower received the 17th Gold Medal for Public Works from the Executive Yuan’s Public Construction Commission. Two Taipower facilities were named exceptional and one hydro project was named outstanding
  • The 2017 Public Construction Quality Awards from the MOEA’s State-Owned Enterprise Commission - two facilities were selected for the construction category and one was chosen for civil engineering
  • The 19th National Golden Award for Architecture from the Republic of China National Enterprise Competitiveness Development Association: Gold Quality Award for Public Construction in 2017.
  • The 2017 Sports Activist Awards from the Ministry of Education’s Sports Administration. The company won three major awards: the Sponsorship Award Gold Class, Sponsorship Award for Long-Term Sponsorship and Promotion Award Gold Class
  • The 26th ROC Enterprise Environmental Protection Awards from the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA): Bronze Award for Enterprise Environmental Protection
  • The 2017 TIBA Awards from the Taiwan Intelligent Building Association: the platinum award (the highest honor) in the Excellent Intelligent Green Building Renovation Class
  • The Juror’s Award at the 13th Art & Business Awards from the Ministry of Culture. Taipower is the first state-owned enterprise to receive the award in the twenty years since the award was established
  • Ranked Number 1 among state-owned enterprises in Cheers Magazine’s 2017 Top 100 Favorite Enterprises Among the New Generation
  • Wanda Power Plant completed a review by the EPA on May 4 2017 and became a certified Environmental Education Facility

2016 Awards

  • Taipower’s Steam Generator Chemical Cleaning Technology at the Third Nuclear Power Plant received the Technology Transfer Award from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
  • Taipower received the Outstanding Award for Improved Quality of Working Life at the 2016 Global HRD Awards from the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO).
  • Datan Power Plant was rated as Outstanding for its participation in the 2016 National Critical Infrastructure Protection Drill.
  • The company received Sports Activist Awards that included the Sponsorship Gold Medal, the Long-Term Sponsorship Award, and the Promotion Gold Medal.
  • Taipower received 1 Gold Medal, 1 Silver Medal and 3 Bronze Medals at the Asian Power Awards
    -The "Application of Reverse Engineering to Repair Large Wind Turbine FRP Blades and Accident Analysis" by the Taipower Research Institute received the Gold Medal Award for Wind Power Project of the Year
    -The "Countermeasures of Stress Corrosion Cracking on Steam Turbine Rotor Grooves at Hsinta Power Station Unit 1" by the Department of Power Development received the Silver Medal Award for Power Plant Upgrade of the Year
    -The "Rehabilitation Project of the Chingshan Branch Plant of TaChia Hydro Power Plant" proposed by the Department of Construction received a Bronze Medal Award for Hydro Power Project of the Year
    -The "Banqiao Primary (161kV) Substation Reconstruction Project" by the Department of Transmission Line and Substation Projects received a Bronze Medal Award for Transmission & Distribution Project of the Year
    -The "Real-Time Alarm and Emergency Processing System for Underground Cables" by KaoPing Power Supply Branch received a Bronze Medal Award for Smart Grid Project of the Year
  • The company received an “Exercise Enterprise Certification” from the Ministry of Education’s Sports Administration
  • According to the World Bank’s 2017 Doing Business Report, Taiwan was ranked 2nd worldwide for the third consecutive year in the category of Getting electricity. Taiwan surpassed developed nations such as Germany, Switzerland and Hong Kong
  • The company received an Exceptional Award (No.1) from the Promotion of Employee Learning System Incentive Campaign by the Central Government for 2016 organized by the Ministry of Education

  • The Department of Personnel Administration received 1st place in the 2016 Personnel Administration Performance Evaluation for Business Organizations from the MOEA’s Department of Personnel
  • The company received several awards through the 16th Gold Medal for Public Works from the Executive Yuan’s Public Construction Commission:
    -The Exceptional Facility Award for the Linkou Power Plant Renewal and Expansion Project – 345kV Gas and Accessory Equipment Construction by the General Engineering Unit
    -The Outstanding Civil Engineering Award for the Linkou-Dinghu 345kV Power Line #41~#43, #56 Dinghu E/S Cable Terminal Civil Construction and Accessory M/E Lump Sum Contract by North District Construction Office
    -The North District Construction Office’s Deputy Director, Kuo Chao-Kun, received the First Prize in Category II – Personal Contribution Award
  • The Datan Power Plant received the Silver Award at the ROC Enterprise Environmental Protection Awards for the third consecutive year and an Honorary Award for Enterprise Environmental Protection. This is the highest honor bestowed upon selected enterprises for their contributions towards environmental protection
  • The Third Nuclear Power Plant’s Machinery Section received the QCQ National Competition Silver Tower Award and the Most Innovative Improvement Award
  • The Taipei Power Supply Branch Office’s FMR Suppression Device had its patent application approved
  • The Jianshan Power Plant received the Outstanding Corporate Adopter Award for its participation in the Air Quality Purification Zone Outstanding Adopter Selection

  • At the MOEA’s Industrial Development Bureau’s 28th Nationwide Unity Activities Contest:
    -The project “Maintenance Frequency Reduction for Trash Catchment Bars” at the Dalin Plant Smile Circle won the Silver Cup in the Supreme Category
    -The project “Maintenance Frequency Reduction for Main Turbine High Pressure Hydraulic System” for the Taichung Plant’s Steam Turbine Circle won the Bronze Cup in the Supreme Category
    -The Project “Reduction for Dry Radioactive Waste Barrels from Major Repair” at the First Nuclear Power Plant won the Bronze Cup in the Supreme Category
  • In the 2015 Top 2000 Survey by CommonWealth Magazine:
    Among the 2,100 enterprises identified for outstanding operational performance in Taiwan, Taipower ranked 1st for the service industry category.
  • At the Executive Yuan’s Sustainable Development Committee’s National Sustainable Development Awards for 2015:
    The National Sustainable Development Award (Enterprise category) for 2015 was given to Taipower’s Dajia River Power Plant. This was the first time a state-owned enterprise had won this prestigious award.

2014 Awards

    -The Silver Award for Information Technology Project of the Year Award for “Novel technology for Visualized Quick Judgments of Electricity Status on Islands and Their Borders”
    -The Silver Award for Coal Power Project of the Year and the Bronze Award for Environmental Upgrade of the year for “Coal Ash Controlled Low Strength Material (CA-CLSM) applied in Taichung Power Plant Ash Concrete Pond Bank Works”
    -The Bronze Award for Transmission & Distribution Project of the Year for “Daan EHV Substation Construction Project”
  • At the Executive Yuan’s Public Construction Commission’s 14th Gold Medal for Public Works:
    -An Award for Excellence in New Facilities for the Taichung Longjing (II) Solar Photovoltaic Project
    -An Award for Excellence in Architecture for the Xiben Distribution Substations Construction Project
    -An Award for Excellence in Water Conservancy for the Dalin Power Plant Renovation Project
  • At the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE)’s 2014 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards:
    -The Gold Medal in Large Enterprises, Service Industry in the 2014 Taiwan Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Report Awards.
    -The Growth through Innovation Award.
  • At the Executive Yuan’s Environmental Protection Administration’s 23rd ROC Enterprise Environmental Protection Awards:
    -A Silver Award for the Datan Power Plant.
    -A Bronze Award for the Dajia River Power Plant.
  • For promoting public works and personnel with excellence in occupational health and safety:
    -The Ministry of Labor’s Workplace Health Promotion Summit and Outstanding Workplace Awards 2014:The Integrated Construction, Construction for the Northern Region, and Construction for the Southern Region Departments won Prizes for Excellence in Public Engineering.
    -The Taipower Headquarters won the Excellence Award for Healthy Workplace Certification 2014.
    -The Taipower Headquarters and the Dalin Power Plant were awarded 2014 Health Pilot Awards for a Healthy Workplace by the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare.
    -Taipei West District Office was awarded the Happy Healthy People Award by the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare.
    -Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs’ 27th Nationwide Unity Activities Contest awarded Taipower the Bronze Cup in the Supreme Category for the “Maintenance Frequency Reduction for Trash Catchment Bars” Project.
