Renewable Energy Generating Efficiency

Total accumulated power generation of wind power and solar photovoltaics in 2019 is 5,780,503,791 kWh. According to the latest release of the Energy Bureau's 2019 annual carbon emission coefficient is 0.509 kg CO2 /degree, it can reduce 2,97200 metric tons of CO2 emissions, which is about 297,200 hectares of afforestation benefits. Because it does not require fuel for power generation, it is equivalent to 1,445,126 kiloliter of fuel oil or 2,138,786 metric tons of coal-fired or 953,783 metric tons of gas-fired units.

  1. According to power emission factor of 2019 published by the Bureau of Energy: CO2 emission of around 0.509 kg per kWh.
  2. For wind power and solar photovoltaics power generation, every kWh can reduce 0.25 kg of fuel burnt, 0.37 kg of coal burnt, or 0.165 kg of gas burnt.
  3. Forestation benefits are based on the commissioned research of Forestry Bureau, Council of Agriculture. In 2010, it is estimated that fixed annual CO2 emission per HA of forest is 9.9 mt.
  4. Average household monthly energy consumption in 2018 is around 292 kWh, the power generated can supply the use of approximately 1,227,210 families for a year.
