Yilan Renze Thermal Power Project

In order to accelerate the promotion of geothermal power generation, the Ministry of Economy set up a national team for geothermal power generation in January 2018. It integrates production, government, academia, and other units to promote geothermal power generation. The first goal is to develop in Yilan Renze thermal zone. At present, CNPC has completed No. 3 and No. 4 wells in Renze. Taipower plans to build a geothermal power plant based on the production capacity of these two wells.

At the same time, Taipower will keep a close eye on the development and results of geothermal experiments conducted by the government in areas such as the Tatun volcano area, Qingshui, Jinlun, and wait for the opportunity to invest in development.

The situation of Taipower's Geothermal power generation installations:

Until the end of Mar 2024, Taipower has established Geothermal generation installations with a capacity of 0.84 MW, and the cumulative electricity generation is 1,038 MWh.
