Why is there a small spark when the plug is inserted into the socket!?

Index > Power Life > Electrical Safety

Why is there a small spark when the plug is inserted into the socket!? If the plug and socket are not rusted or worn out, it may be because the plug was unplugged without turning off the power before the previous use of the appliance, or the power was first turned on before plugging in, and the instantaneous current when the plug was inserted into the socket was high, so generating sparks. In addition, if the two feet (two poles) of the plug accumulate dust and hair, they will be energized with water and gas to form a circuit! ಠ_ಠ Therefore, the plug (seat) should be regularly checked to keep it clean. Make it a habit to turn off the power and then pull the plug or plug it in and turn on the power. Do not place flammable items around the appliance, which can prolong the life of the appliance and avoid disasters caused by sparks. If there are still sparks, or the temperature of the plug (socket) is high, and the spark is large, you should suspend the use, send the appliance for inspection or ask a qualified water and electricity company (electrical contractor) to check and repair it.
