The Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) has been a long-time supporter of the national sports policy for promoting physical welfare and athletic talent. The company has established six competitive semi-professional sports teams in men’s baseball, soccer and volleyball and women’s basketball, badminton and volleyball.
Taipower’s athletes are highly-skilled and often represent Taiwan at international events. This allows them to promote Taiwan’s global visibility while nurturing athletic talent domestically. To date, the company has won multiple major awards and recognition from the Taiwan Sports Administration. Awards include the Gold Sponsorship Award, the Long-Term Sponsorship Award and the Gold Award for Sport Promotion. Taipower demonstrates its dedication to social responsibility and sponsorship by organizing community athletic events in the form of training camps and Taipower Bowl tournaments.
Taipower's Fun Ball Camps
In order to improve domestic fitness levels, the six Taipower sports teams hold 10 to 12 summer training camps every year for children and young athletes. Typical training camp curriculums and activities includes fundamental skills, sports rules, carnival games, and friendly matches that encourage individual and community interests in sports. The training camps aim to help young athletes and children find ways to exercise regularly and to develop leadership, team-building skills and sportsmanship.
Taipower's Ball Tournaments
Taipower has long promoted sports and cultivated talented young athletes through its six sports teams. The company’s teams take turns holding ball tournaments at schools. These tournaments allow school children to challenge each other, acquire techniques and develop sportsmanship. The tournaments have earned recognition from schools, children and parents. The events have also attracted positive media coverage. The company hopes to continue cultivating sportsmanship and good court etiquette through these tournaments and events.
