Long-term Power Development Plan
Considering government's energy policy and both domestic and overseas environmental conditions, Taipower's latest long-term power development program for its own generating units (2024 program, based on the report of MOEA) shows that, from 2025 to 2034, the volume of retirement of the installed capacity of thermal power is going to be, approximately, 10,361MW. To cover the shortage of installed capacity due to the retirement of those units, Taipower is actively planning a series of new thermal power plants with total installed capacity of 17,813MW, including Tatan CC#7, Hsinta Rebuild #1~#3, Taichung #1~#6, Talin Rebuild #1~#2, Tunghsiao Rebuild #4~#8 and Hsiehho Rebuild #1 etc.(as shown in the figure below)
