“Taiwan Power Company, Ltd.” was organized on May1, 1946 to take over all power facilities in Taiwan. According to company law, “Taiwan Power Company, Ltd.” was registered to the government on December14, 1950. The company license was issued by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 1951.

    The adjustment of the company's capital from NT$300 billion to NT$400 billion was passed in the Stockholders' Meeting on September 21,1998. At the end of 2006, the capital was NT$330 billion and the total assets reached NT$1.4 trillion. The major business items are power development, power supply and investment in power-related businesses.
