International Conferences and Cooperation Activities
To comply with the government’s promotion of a low-carbon economy and to reach national energy conservation and carbon reduction goals, Taipower specially established an "Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction Report Meeting" in 2010. Chairman Edward K.M Chen was assigned to be the convener and President Lee Han-Shen was assigned to be the deputy convener. Their major responsibilities include reviewing the company's overall goal, strategy direction, implementation strategies and action plans for energy conservation and carbon reduction. Ten ongoing task forces have been established within this meeting. Vice presidents in charge of the relevant tasks are the conveners of their respective tasks. Abiding by the National Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction Plan, Taipower made efforts in the following areas: low-carbon energy use, efficiency of existing units and transmission and distribution lines, research on the technologies for power-grid side and power-supply side, carbon credit management, power demand-side management, energy conservation, promotion and communication, etc. |
