      The installed capacity at the end of this year was 40,247 MW.

      The primary capacity additions were: the Tatan Combined-Cycle Unit 6, 471 MW, the Mailian Wind Power, 30MW, and an IPP(the Starbuck Thermal Power Plant), 490MW.

Energy Sales

  Total energy sales were 179.2 billion KWh, a 4.1% decrease over the previous year. Of this, 57.9 billion KWh or 32.3 % was consumed by lighting customers, a 0.7% decrease over the previous year; 121.3 billion KWh, or 67.3.%, was consumed by power customers, a 5.7% decrease over the previous year.

  

Load and Line Loss

(1)Load

  In 2009, the peak load reached 31,010MW, a 0.99 % decrease over the previous year; the average load of this year was 21,630 MW, a 3.16 % decrease over the previous year.

 

(2)Line Loss

  Over many years of efforts, line loss on the Taipower system has dropped gradually. In 2009. The line loss was 4.86%.
