Installed Capacity

The installed capacity at the end of this year was 38,634 MW.

The primary capacity additions were: the Tatan Combined-Cycle Unit 5（471 MW）, the
Mingchien Hydro（17 MW）and the Luwei Wind Power（64 MW）.

Energy Sales

　　Total energy sales were 186.9 billion KWh, a 0.1% decrease over the previous year. Of this, 58.3 billion KWh or 31.2 % was consumed by lighting customers, a 1.0 % decrease over the previous year; 128.6 billion KWh, or 68.8.%, was consumed by power customers, a 0.3% increase over the previous year.

Peak & Average Load

　　In 2008, the peak load reached 31,320
MW, a 4.48 % decrease over the previous year;
the average load of this year was 22,344 MW, a
0.84 % decrease over the previous year.

Line Loss

　　Over many years of efforts, line loss on the
Taipower system has dropped gradually. The
line loss was 4.58% in 2008. It was the best
achievement in Taipower's history.
