| To cope with the challenges of the company's management transformation due to liberalization of the power industry and the future privatization of Taipower and
to reinforce the company's strength, the company has made efforts in enhancing its manpower utilization to upgrade its overall productivity. At the end of 2005, the total number of employees was 25,579, a drop of 2,287 or a reduction of 8.21% from the previous year. Compared with the total energy sales growth rate 23.09%, employees' productivity rose by 33.88%. In view of the continual growing of the company's business and for facilitating the promotion of new and existing businesses and to compensate for a lack of manpower, efforts were continuously made on strengthening and adjusting manpower structure. The measure of manpower control has been a non-stop endeavor. The company recruited 770 new employees. To cope with the addition of power facilities and new businesses, the task on renewing and increasing manpower will be sustained to reinforce the passing-on of experience and to lower the average age of employees. |
