Installed Capacity The total installed capacity of the power generation units at the end of 2010 was 40,912 MW. The primary capacity additions were the Tatan Combined-Cycle units 3&6 of 507 MW (low pressures converted to high pressure gas), the Matsu Chushan Power Plant of 15 MW, the Tachiachi Hydro Power Kukuan Branch of 38 MW, the Mailian Wind Power Station of 102 MW, etc. |

Energy Sales Total energy sales in 2010 were 193,313 million KWh, a 7.9% increase over the previous year. Of these, 59,179 million KWh, or 30.2%, was consumed by lighting customers, a 2.2% increase over the previous year; 134,135 million KWh, or 69.4% was consumed by power customers, a 10.5% increase over the previous year.
Load and Line Loss (1)Load In 2010, the peak load reached 33,023 MW, a 6.5% increase over the previous year; the average load was 23,674 MW, a 7.1% increase over the previous year.
(2)Line Loss After many years of effort, line loss on the Taipower system has dropped gradually. In 2010, the line loss was 4.66%, the second best record in Taipower’s history after the 2008 rate of 4.58%. |
