Industrial Safety and Management of On-the-Job Injuries
Industrial safety and on-the-job injuries is the most important issue in this company's management. The high-ranking officials signed the Health and Safety Policy on November 24, 2008 as a commitment to“Respecting Life and Caring for Health.”Abiding by the Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Management System (TOSHMS), efforts were made to upgrade industrial safety performance and fulfill the“safety first”concept. The implementation status and performance achievements in 2008 were as follows: 1. Implemented the Government's Instruction to Establish TOSHMS As of the end of 2008, 52 units had established TOSHMS. 2. Implemented an Annual Investigation Plan ◆ Safety and health investigation team made 36 random checks in 125 units. ◆ Main transformer investigation team made 2 checks of 22 transformers in 11 units. ◆ Industrial safety performance was investigated in 67 units of the second-level Responsibility System Center. ◆ Investigation and follow-up checks on the improvement of the fire-fighting system in 24 units. |

The total injury index was 6.71. ◆ Including commuting:The frequency index of injuries was 0.55 and the severity index 139. The total injury index was 8.74. 2. Contractors The frequency index of injuries was 0.49, less than the average of the recent years. |
