Power Grid Construction
■ The Seventh Power Transmission and Substation Project In order to ensure the reliability of the power grid, maintain the stability of system power supply, and meet the diversified demands of the load, Taipower launched the Seventh Power Transmission and Substation Project in 2010. ● Period: From January 2010 to December 2015, totaling 6 years. ● Content: The project will complete a total length of 2,370 ckt-km of transmission lines, 130 new and expanding substations (108 new substations and 22 expanding substations), with a total capacity of 23,560 MVA. ● Total investment: NT$ 238.9 billion. In 2010, the project completed a total capacity of 6,815 MVA of new and expanded substations, including 5 EHV substations, 2 primary substations, and 8 primary distribution substations. The total capacity of EHV substations and primary substations was 53,500 MVA and 68,231 MVA. The total length of transmission lines was 372 ckt-km, of which 138 ckt-km were overhead lines and 234 ckt-km were underground cables. ■ The Sixth Distribution Project In order to increase power distribution reliability and power supply quality, Taipower launched various distribution projects to strengthen its distribution system. The Sixth Distribution Project started in 2008. The total budget of this project is NT$56.8 billion. The implementation period was 4 years, from January 2008 to December 2011. As of the end of 2010, the implementation of the budget reached $42.67 billion. The project was 76.7% complete. In the year 2010, new, expanded and improved distribution lines reached 7,073 ckt-km; the replaced and added transformers reached 9,552 MVA; electricity meters reached 765,300 units. |
