Based on the company's management philosophy "Integrity,Caring,Innovation,Service" and the spirit of "People First," Taipower always shows its concern towards the residents nearby power facilities. Through 24 branches and 281 service stations, Taipower actively participated in local sports games, concerts, cultural activities, gave support for low-income families, and assisted in the search for missing children and aided lost elders.
In 2006, the major social charitable activities were:
1. Light of Love 2006
On the eve of Chinese Lunar New Year, Taipower and A Kernel of Wheat Foundation jointly held a series of activities for the elders who lived alone, including accompanying them to do festival shopping.
2. Seeds of Hope Plan 2006
Taipower cooperated with the Hualian Mennoite Hospital and the Taitung Christian Hospital to launch "Seeds of Hope" plan in the summer of 2006. Students from underprivileged aboriginal families were recruited to participate in their hometowns' community services to bring more hopes to the Hualian and Taitung areas.
3. Other Activities
Taipower sponsored“Sky Lantern”activity in Pinghsi, Taipei County; assisted the renovation of a swimming pool in Hengchun, Pingtung County; assisted a religious ritual activity- the walking pilgrimage for Matsu (the Goddess of the Sea) in Tonghsiao, Miaoli County. |
