The Sixth Transmission
To comply with power development program and regional load growth, Taipower formulated the aforesaid five-and-a-half-year project, which started construction in July 2001. However, because of the global economic recession, the growth on power demands slowed down during the past few years. In order to increase investment effectiveness, this project execution period has been extended to 8 years. Meanwhile, the capacity of substations was revised to 71,791 MVA and the total length of transmission lines was adjusted to 4,185 ckt-km. In 2003 Taipower completed a total installation capacity of 9,827.21 MVA of substations and a total length of 518.434 ckt-km of transmission lines, of which 284.69 ckt-km are overhead lines and 233.744 ckt-km underground cables. The major construction works include: • 6 EHV substations |
